Long-Term Book Availability
A book’s journey should not end when the launch campaign is over. This is how we look after a title once it is published.
An Ongoing Objective, Not a Promise of Permanence
Continued availability and catalogue management are objectives we work towards, subject to contractual rights, channel agreements and commercial feasibility. We do not promise that every title will be available in every format for ever.
What Looking After a Title Involves
Metadata checks
Accurate titles, descriptions, subjects and identifiers, so readers and retailers can find the book.
Listing and ordering checks
Confirming that the book can actually be found and ordered where it is meant to be sold.
Edition and price updates
Keeping editions, formats and prices correct across the channels in use.
Reprint assessment
Reviewing stock and demand to decide whether and how to reprint.
Availability monitoring
Watching for titles that have become unavailable or hard to find on a channel.
Periodic catalogue review
Looking at how each title is performing and whether a new edition, format or market makes sense.
When a Book Can Grow
Where it is commercially justified, a title may be given a new edition, an additional format, a translation or a licence to a partner in another market. These are opportunities we review, not outcomes we promise.
